    Union Minister Hardeep Puri Commends Success of India Energy Week 2024

    Panaji, 10th Feb.     At the closing ceremony of India Energy Week (IEW) 2024 in Goa, Union Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Housing & Urban Affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri, praised the remarkable organization of the global energy conclave.

    He highlighted the significant growth of IEW 2024 compared to its inaugural session last year, with a 30% increase in exhibitors showcasing products and services across an expansive area of 18,000 square meters.

    Puri also announced that the third edition of IEW in 2025 will take place between February 11th and 14th at Yashobhoomi, India’s largest convention and exhibition center, situated in Dwarka, New Delhi. Additionally, he revealed that India Energy Week 2026 will return to Goa and be hosted at IPSHEM-ONGC Training Institute in the southern part of the state.

    The Minister emphasized the event’s success, highlighted by the robust participation of CEOs and board members from major oil, gas, biofuel, and renewable technology companies. He noted that IEW has become a prominent platform facilitating diverse interactions among industry leaders, thereby fostering collaboration and innovation.

    Puri commended the technological innovations showcased at IEW 2024, acknowledging the efforts of both large companies and individual entrepreneurs. He underlined India’s significant role in global energy demand, particularly in biofuels, and expressed optimism about the country’s future growth prospects.

    Furthermore, Puri highlighted the potential of ethanol, biofuels, compressed biogas, and green hydrogen in India’s energy landscape, indicating substantial growth opportunities in these sectors.

    Alongside the Minister, Pankaj Jain, Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, emphasized India’s transformation into a hub for global energy companies, attracting investment and expertise.

    The ceremony also featured the Energy Startup Challenge awards, with Iron Technologies securing the first prize, Vasitara Private Limited as the runner-up, and Aloe Ecell clinching the third position. Biofuels Junction and VDT Pipeline Integrity Solutions received honorable mentions for their contributions.

    Panaji, 9thFeb.     Union Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri, lauded the technological advancements and innovations showcased at the second edition of India Energy Week 2024 in Goa.

    Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the event, Minister Puri highlighted several innovations, including the introduction of ‘Tamper Proof’ cooking gas cylinders with QR codes and diesel engines tailored for the US market.

    Addressing India’s progress in the energy sector, Minister Puri emphasized the significance of biofuels, particularly the conversion of cooking and vegetable oils into sustainable aviation fuel. He also noted India’s achievement of 12% ethanol blending with petrol ahead of schedule, prompting the government to revise the target to 20% by 2025. “The next generation will rely on electric and ethanol,” he affirmed.

    In a separate statement, Minister Puri celebrated Goa’s transition to a kerosene-free state, commending the state government’s efforts. “I want to congratulate the government of Goa for achieving freedom from kerosene dependency,” he remarked.

    Citing the International Energy Agency (IEA) report unveiled at India Energy Week 2024, Minister Puri underscored India’s projected surge in oil demand growth, surpassing China. This revelation marks a significant milestone in India’s energy trajectory.

    India Energy Week 2024, running from February 6 to 9 in Goa, stands as the country’s premier energy exhibition and conference, facilitating discussions on the entire energy value chain and bolstering India’s transition goals.

    The event includes a roundtable with global oil & gas CEOs and experts, emphasizing the integration of startups into the energy sector. With the participation of 17 Energy ministers from various countries, over 35,000 attendees, and more than 900 exhibitors, the event showcases innovative solutions and initiatives driving India’s energy landscape forward.

    Six dedicated country pavilions and a special Make in India Pavilion highlight global collaboration and indigenous innovation in the energy sector.

    PM Modi to Visit Goa on Feb 6 to Inaugurate India Energy Week 2024

    Panaji, 5th Feb.     Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Goa on 6th February, 2024.

    At around 10:30 AM, the Prime Minister will inaugurate ONGC Sea Survival Centre. At around 10:45 AM, he will inaugurate India Energy Week 2024. Thereafter, at around 2:45 PM, he will participate in the Viksit Bharat, Viksit Goa 2047 programme.

    India Energy Week 2024

    Achieving Aatmanirbharta in energy requirements has been a key focus area of the Prime Minister. In yet another step in this direction, India Energy Week 2024 will be held from 6 – 9 February in Goa. It will be India’s largest and only all-encompassing energy exhibition and conference, bringing together the entire energy value chain, and will serve as a catalyst for India’s energy transition goals. The Prime Minister will hold a roundtable with Global oil & gas CEOs and experts.

    Encouraging and fostering startups and integrating them into the energy value chain will be an important focus for India Energy Week 2024. It is expected to witness participation of around 17 Energy ministers from different countries, 35,000+ attendees and more than 900 exhibitors. It will have six dedicated country pavilions – Canada, Germany, Netherlands, Russia, UK and USA. A special Make in India Pavilion is also being organised to showcase innovative solutions which Indian MSMEs are spearheading in the energy sector.

    Viksit Bharat, Viksit Goa 2047

    The Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of projects worth over Rs. 1330 crores in the public programme in Goa.

    The Prime Minister will inaugurate the permanent campus of National Institute of Technology Goa to the nation. The newly built-up campus has various facilities such as tutorial complex, departmental complex, seminar complex, administrative complex, hostels, health centre, staff quarters, amenity centre, sports ground and other utilities to cater to the needs of students, faculty and staff of the Institute.

    The Prime Minister will dedicate the new campus of the National Institute of Watersports. The institute will introduce 28 tailor-made courses aimed at fostering the development of watersports and water rescue activities catering to both the public and the Armed Forces. Prime Minister will also inaugurate a 100 TPD Integrated Waste Management Facility in South Goa. It has been designed for the scientific treatment of 60 TPD wet waste and 40 TPD dry waste, while also featuring a 500 KW solar power plant that generates surplus electricity.

    The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the Passenger Ropeway, along with associated tourism activities, connecting Panaji and Reis Magos. Foundation stone for the construction of a 100 MLD Water Treatment Plant in South Goa will be laid by him.

    Further, he will also distribute appointment orders to 1930 new Government recruits across various departments under Rozgar Mela and also hand over sanction letters to beneficiaries of various welfare schemes.

    ONGC Sea Survival Centre

    ONGC Sea Survival Centre has been developed as a one-of-a-kind Integrated Sea Survival Training Centre to advance the Indian sea survival training ecosystem to global standards. It is expected to train 10,000-15,000 personnel annually. Exercises in simulated and controlled harsh weather conditions shall enhance Sea Survival skills of trainees and thus potentially increase the chances of safe escape from real life disasters.
