    New Delhi, 29th March: Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan on Sunday emphasised the need for inclusive and technology-driven access to justice while addressing the National Consultation 2026 on the Tele-Law initiative under the DISHA scheme, organised by the Ministry of Law and Justice.

    Highlighting that access to justice is a cornerstone of democracy, he said efforts like Tele-Law ensure that justice is not limited to a privileged few but reaches every citizen in a timely and affordable manner.

    The Vice President underscored the transformative role of technology in governance, noting that initiatives such as digital legal services can help bridge the justice gap, reduce litigation burden and enable early dispute resolution through pre-litigation advice.

    Referring to recent reforms, he said the transition to new criminal laws reflects a shift towards a more citizen-centric legal system, with improved efficiency and simplified procedures.

    Radhakrishnan also stressed the importance of linguistic inclusion, advocating for legal services and consultations in regional languages to improve accessibility and public participation.

    Calling for focused attention on last-mile delivery, he urged stakeholders to prioritise women, rural populations and marginalised communities in ensuring equitable access to justice.

    During the event, the Vice President launched the “Voice of Beneficiaries” Booklet 2025–26, showcasing real-life success stories of Tele-Law services, and unveiled ‘Nyaya Setu’, an AI-powered chatbot designed to provide instant legal guidance to citizens.

    He also introduced the Nyaya Setu mascot to enhance public engagement and released legal awareness comic books developed with National Law University Delhi to simplify legal concepts for wider outreach.

    The Vice President commended para-legal volunteers, Common Service Centres and legal professionals for their grassroots contributions in expanding access to justice.

    The event was attended by Arjun Ram Meghwal and other dignitaries, reflecting the government’s continued focus on building a responsive and citizen-centric legal ecosystem.

    New Delhi, 28th March: The Department of Justice India will organise the National Consultation 2026 under the Tele-Law initiative on March 29 at Vigyan Bhawan, aiming to strengthen access to justice through digital innovation and stakeholder engagement.

    The consultation, part of the DISHA (Designing Innovative Solutions for Holistic Access to Justice) scheme, will bring together policymakers, legal experts, and stakeholders to deliberate on enhancing technology-enabled legal services across the country.

    Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan will grace the event as Chief Guest, while Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal will attend as Guest of Honour.

    A key highlight of the event will be the launch of “Nyaya Setu,” an AI-powered chatbot designed to provide citizens with instant legal guidance and improve access to Tele-Law services. The programme will also see the unveiling of a mascot aimed at enhancing public engagement, particularly among rural and underserved populations.

    In addition, a “Voice of Beneficiaries” booklet for 2025–26 will be released, showcasing real-life impact stories of individuals benefitting from digital legal aid services. A White Paper based on prior technical discussions will also be presented, offering strategic recommendations for strengthening the Tele-Law framework.

    The event will feature live interactions with Tele-Law panel lawyers, Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs), and beneficiaries, highlighting grassroots-level impact. Legal awareness comic books developed with National Law University Delhi will also be launched to simplify legal concepts for wider public understanding.

    The consultation is expected to witness participation from around 1,200 attendees, including representatives from the Supreme Court e-Committee, National Legal Services Authority, legal professionals, academic institutions, and government officials, along with virtual participation from across India.

    The initiative marks a step forward in the government’s efforts to bridge the justice gap through technology, awareness, and inclusive service delivery.
